Because Only Together We Can
Empowering extremely poor and marginalized persons with disabilities
Founder’s Message
Shaheed Safwan Soddo is not just a name—he is a feeling, a heart, a soul, and an everlasting symbol of love.
His only elder sister, Atkiya Zaman Tishma, is speech-impaired, and he was her voice, her strength, and her best friend. Safwan Akhtar Soddo was a brilliant student of Class 10 (Science) at Savar Cantonment Public School and College. At the tender age of fifteen, he shone brightly not only in academics but also in culture, character, and compassion. Humble, religious, patriotic, friendly, altruistic, and warmly hospitable—he embodied every noble quality that defines the best of humanity.
Safwan dreamed of becoming a software engineer, with a vision to serve people with disabilities, orphans, the poor, and the helpless. His heart overflowed with love—for his family, his friends, and his country. But fate had other plans. During the July student uprising against discrimination, he was tragically shot dead by police near Enam Medical College in Savar, attaining martyrdom on the spot.
The loss of Soddo has left an immeasurable void in our lives—a sorrow that words can scarcely express. We have not only lost a beloved son, but the nation has lost a precious gem—an embodiment of hope, courage, and compassion. To honor his memory, his sacrifice, and the dreams he could not fulfill, we have established the Shaheed Safwan Soddo Foundation, officially registered under the Ministry of Social Welfare, dedicated to serving humanity and the nation—just as he had always wished.

In Loving Memory
(Words of Remembrance / Memoirs)
In The Name of Soddo
Shaheed Safwan Soddo was just a young student, full of dreams, when a brutal act of injustice stole his life on 5th August 2024. A bullet pierced his heart, but it could not silence his spirit.
Today, he lives among us as a martyr of our nation—his sacrifice etched forever in our history. This foundation carries his name so that Soddo’s light never fades.
Through every act of service, every life touched, and every smile restored, we keep his memory alive. What was once a tragedy is now a torch of hope, guiding us to serve humanity with love, courage, and dignity.
